Applicable Environment
On a network, the multicast information each for multicast group is transmitted in a certain range.
You can configure the multicast forwarding range on an S9300. You can configure a multicast
forwarding boundary on an interface to form a closed multicast forwarding area.
When an interface is configured with the forwarding boundary for a multicast group, the
S9300 cannot forward or receive any packet of the group.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before configuring a multicast forwarding policy, complete the following tasks:
l Configuring the unicast routing protocol to ensure that IP routes between nodes are
reachable
l Configuring basic multicast functions
