Applicable Environment
On a PIM-DM network, the S9300 checks the received multicast data packets. By checking
whether the data packets match the filtering rule, the S9300 determines whether to forward the
packets. That is, the S9300 functions as a filter of multicast data. The filter controls data traffic
and limits information obtained by downstream receivers. Therefore, the security of the multicast
data is improved.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before setting the parameters for controlling the forwarding of a multicast source, complete the
following tasks:
l Configuring the unicast routing protocol to ensure that IP routes between nodes are
reachable
