Procedure
l Run the display msdp brief command to check the brief information about the status of
the MSDP peer.
l Run the display msdp peer-status [ peer-address ] command to check the detailed
information about the status of the MSDP peer.
----End
Example
If the configuration is successful, you can run the display msdp brief command to check the
brief information about all the remote peers that establish MSDP peer relation with the local
S9300.

5.5 Setting the Parameters for Controlling the MSDP
Connection
This section describes how to set the description of MSDP peers and control sessions between
MSDP peers.
5.5.1 Establishing the Configuration Task
5.5.2 Configuring the Description of an MSDP Peer
5.5.3 Setting the Interval for Retrying Setting Up the TCP Connection Between MSDP Peers
5.5.4 Controlling Status of the MSDP Peer Connection
5.5.5 Checking the Configuration
5.5.1 Establishing the Configuration Task
Applicable Environment
When creating an MSDP peer, you can configure the description about the MSDP peer to
differentiate it from other MSDP peers.
MSDP peers are connected through TCP (port 639). You can tear down or re-establish the TCP
connection and control the sessions between MSDP peers.
A TCP connection needs to be established between MSDP peers quickly in one of the following
situation:
l An MSDP peer is created.
l The disconnected MSDP peers need to be re-connected.
