1.6.2 Enabling IGMP Snooping
Context
By default, IGMP snooping is disabled on the S9300. You need to enable IGMP snooping on
the S9300 globally. After IGMP snooping is enabled globally, IGMP snooping remains disabled
in a VLAN, by default. Therefore, you need to enable IGMP snooping in a VLAN.
Do as follows on the S9300 that receives multicast packets from a router and forwards the
multicast packets to hosts.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
igmp-snooping enable
IGMP snooping is enabled globally.
Step 3 Run:
vlan vlan-id
The VLAN view is displayed.
Step 4 Run:
igmp-snooping enable
IGMP snooping is enabled in the VLAN.
NOTE
To enable IGMP snooping for multiple VLANs, repeat steps 3 to 4 as required.
