Step 2 Run:

The MSDP view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
peer peer-address connect-interface interface-type interface-number
The MSDP peer relation is established.
l peer-address: specifies the address of the remote MSDP peer. The value of this parameter
must be different from the address of the RP.
l interface-type interface-number: specifies the local interface. The local interface cannot be
the RP interface. On the S9300, VLANIF interfaces and loopback interfaces can be
configured with the MSDP peer relation.
Step 4 (Optional) Run:
peer peer-address description text
The description of the MSDP peer is configured.
This command helps you differentiate remote MSDP peers and manage the connection between
the S9300 and the remote MSDP peers.
l peer-address: specifies the address of the remote MSDP peer.
l text: specifies the description of up to 80 characters.
Step 5 (Optional) Run:
peer peer-address mesh-group name
The remote MDSP peer is added to the mesh group, that is, the S9300 considers the remote
MSDP peer as a member of the mesh group.
If the Anycast-RP is created on only two S9300s, skip this configuration.
l peer-address: specifies the address of the remote MSDP peer.
l name: specifies the name of the mesh group. The members of the same mesh group use the
name of the same mesh group.
NOTE
l The MSDP peer relation must be established between all members of the same mesh group.
l The two members between which the relation is set up must recognize each other as the member of the
same mesh group.
l One MSDP peer belongs to only one mesh group. If you run the command several times to add an
MSDP peer to different mesh groups, the last configuration is effective.

5.6.6 Specifying the Logical RP Address of an SA Message
Context
The MSDP peer performs the RPF check on the received SA messages. If the address of the peer
RP address contained in an SA message is the same as the addresses of the local RP, the MSDP
peer discards the SA message.
