Configuring the router client connection over the telephone network (continued)
Establishing a connection between the client PC and the industrial router
Double-click on the connection that you created using the in-
structions in the previous section.
In this window, enter the user name and password that you
created previously when configuring the modem. If you se-
lected the option every User with dial in rights, you can enter
the user name and password of a user who has dial-in rights.
Click Connect.
You have established a connection to the router.
Displaying and verifying connection status
On a computer connected to the routers LAN interface,
clicking on Status Modem shows whether a user has dialed in to the router, and where there is
an established connection, who has dialed in.
The default settings for
Authentication via CHAP and
Authentication via PAP must be the
same as those on the router, otherwise
no connection can be established.
