FRONT GEARCASE INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT
The front drive must be torqued in the specified
sequence for proper alignment.
1. Install the steering rack from the right side of the
vehicle.
2. Install lower steering shaft onto steering rack.
3. Install lower steering shaft pinch bolt and torque to
specification.
TORQUE
Lower Steering Shaft Pinch Bolt:
50 ft-lb (68 Nm)
4. Torque EPS bracket mounting nuts to specification.
TORQUE
EPS Bracket Mounting Fasteners:
30 ft-lbs (41 Nm)
5. Install the gearcase from the right side of the vehicle.
6. Lubricate the front gearcase splines with Anti-Seize.
7. Install the front propshaft onto the gearcase. Use a
NEW spring pin in the front propshaft.
8. Install the driveshaft into bearing carrier and front
gearcase.
9. Install the upper A-arm into the bearing carrier.
10.Install upper ball joint pinch bolt
q
. Torque to
specification.
TORQUE
Ball Joint Pinch Bolt:
40 ft-lbs (54 Nm)
