d. Unsolder three stator leads and remove
the stator.
e. Remove the voltage regulator assembly
and rectifier assembly as a set.
6. Inspection of parts
A. Rotor
a. Inspection of slip ring surface.
Correct stain or scratches on the slip
ring surface with a sand paper of about
400-600#
A badly roughened slip ring or a slip
ring worn down beyond the service limit
should be replaced.
b. Check for continuity between both the
slip rings, Figure 602Y.
If there is no continuity, the field coil
is defective.
Replace the rotor assembly.
