C. Rectifier Assembly
a. Positive Heat sink
Check for continuity between the positive
(+) heat sink and stator coil lead connection
terminal with a circuit tester.
If there is continuity in both directions, the
diode is short-circuited.
Replace the rectifier assembly.
b. Negative Heat sink
Check for continuity between the negative
(－ ) heat sink and stator coil lead connection
terminal with a circuit tester.
If there is continuity in both directions, the
diode is short-circuited.
Replace the rectifier assembly.
c. Diode Trio
Using a circuit tester, check the three small
diodes for continuity in both directions.
If there is either continuity or an open
circuit in both directions, the diode is
defective.
Replace the rectifier assembly.
