Installing shielding covers
Please observe the following rules when installing shielding covers:
● In the case of boards with no connection option on the front, a shielding cover (C39165-
A7075-B15) must be installed as these only have a plastic cover C39228-A402-C21.
These are:
SLMA24, SLMA8, SLMAE8, SLMAE200, SLMO2, SLMO8, STMD3, TM2LP, TMC16, TM-
DID/TMDID2, TMEW2
● In the case of boards with a connection option on the front, a shielding cover is not installed
as these have a special shielded front panel. These are:
DIUT2, DIUN2, DIU2U, STMI2, TMCAS-2, TMANI8, SLCN, IVMNL
● Empty board slots must be equipped with shielding covers at the front and at the back.
● When using internal patch panels:
The number of rear shielding covers (DUA437) depends on the number of internal patch
panels used.
Example: Basic cabinet (9 slots): 4 internal patch panels ==> 5 shielding covers. Patch
panels should be handled in the same way as shielding covers.
● Board slots with MDFU (CABLUs), external patch panels or with OpenEnd cabling must be
covered with additional blind panels for shielding purposes.
Install the shielding cover as follows:
1. Insert the two bottom pins on the shielding cover into the openings provided for this pur-
pose on the slide-in shelf.
2. Push the shielding cover in the direction of the board until it locks into position (see
Figure 4-17).
