3.11.2 Comfort water unit
The water unit can be optionally equipped with a disinfection system. It
automatically adds a disinfectant to the water that comes in contact with
patients. This reduces the amount of bacteria in the water lines. If you
operate the treatment center without the disinfection system, please refer
to the information in chapters "Media quality" [ → 16] and Standards/
Approvals" [ → 23].

If the water unit is equipped with a disinfection system. it can be switched
to operation with a stand-alone water supply. After switching, distilled
water is mixed with DENTOSEPT P disinfectant in a 100:1 ratio (1 liter of
water, 10 ml DENTOSEPT P) and filled into the storage tank of the water
unit, see "Stand-alone water supply" [ → 154].
The top cover of the water unit has integrated cleaning adapters for
water-conducting instruments and a suction hose. The dentist element
and assistant element instruments can be plugged in with these adapters
on both sides of the water unit. The openings are covered with flaps. The
adapters are needed for sanitizing the treatment center, automatically
purging the water lines (autopurge), and for cleaning the suction hoses.
To clean the suction system, water is pumped into a tank behind the
suction hose intake and suctioned off from there. A cleaning agent is
automatically added to the water if the dental treatment center is
equipped with the chemical suction hose cleaning option. For more

WARNING
Microorganisms can multiply in the water.
These microorganisms could increase the risk of damage to one's
health.
➢ If the treatment center is equipped with a disinfection system, never
operate this without disinfectant.
