Suzuki SFV650 - Oil Pump Inspection; Oil Pipe Removal and Installation

1E-13 Engine Lubrication System:
• Install the oil pump driven gear (4) and snap ring (5).
CAUTION
!
Never reuse a snap ring.
Special tool
: 09900–06107 (Snap ring pliers)
• Reinstall the clutch. Refer to “Clutch Installation in
Section 5C (Page 5C-9)”.
Oil Pump Inspection

Inspect the oil pump in the following procedures:
1) Remove the oil pump. Refer to “Oil Pump Removal
and Installation (Page 1E-12)”.
2) Rotate the oil pump by hand and check that it moves
smoothly. If it does not move smoothly, replace the
oil pump assembly.
CAUTION
!
Do not attempt to disassemble the oil pump
assembly.
The oil pump is available only as an
assembly.
3) Install the oil pump. Refer to “Oil Pump Removal and
Installation (Page 1E-12)”.
Oil Pipe Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Drain engine oil. Refer to “Engine Oil and Filter
Replacement in Section 0B (Page 0B-10)”.
2) Remove the clutch. Refer to “Clutch Removal in
Section 5C (Page 5C-7)”.
3) Remove the oil pipe stopper (1) by removing its
screw (2).
4) Remove the oil pipe (3).
Installation
Installation is in reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
• Install the oil pipe (1).
