1G-8 Fuel System:
3) Lift and support the fuel tank with the fuel tank prop
stay (2).
CAUTION
!
Lifting up the fuel tank by force can damage
the hoses and wiring harness.
4) Place a clean rag under the fuel feed hose (3) and
disconnect the fuel feed hose (3).
CAUTION
!
When removing the fuel tank, do not leave
the fuel feed hose (3) on the fuel pump side.
5) Disconnect the fuel tank breather hose (4) and water
drain hose (5).
6) Disconnect the fuel pump lead wire coupler (6).
7) Remove the fuel tank by removing the mounting bolt
(7).
8) Remove the fuel tank bracket (8).
9) Remove the fuel tank stay and its rubber cushion (9).
Installation
Install the fuel tank in the reverse order of removal. Pay
attention to the following point:
CAUTION
!
Be sure not to bend or twist the hoses when
installing.
• Connect the water hose (1) and breather hose (2) as
shown in the fuel tank drain hose and breather hose
routing diagram. Refer to “Fuel Tank Drain Hose and
Breather Hose Routing Diagram (Page 1G-3)”.
NOTE
Connect the fuel feed hose (3) to the fuel
pump until it locks securely (a click is heard).
