Testing the Neutral Switch
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower any attachments to the ground,
engage the parking brake, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Switch the main circuit breaker to the O
FF position, to de-energize the electrical
system.
3. Remove the hydraulic pump cover; refer to Removing and Installing the Hydraulic
Pump Cover, page 7–15.
4. Locate the neutral switch wiring harness connection to the right of the hydraulic
pump.
5. Disconnect the wire harness from the switch.
6. Use a multimeter (ohms setting) to determine if continuity exists between the
terminals for the switch when the SDLA lever is moved forward and reverse.
7. Replace the switch if necessary.
8. If the switch tests correctly and a circuit problem still exists, check the wire
harnesses; refer to 9 Appendix A, page 9–1.
9. Connect the wire harness and install the pump cover.
10. Switch the main circuit breaker to the O
N position, to energize the electrical
system.
