Removing the Battery

IMPORTANT
Use care when removing the battery cables and ensure that you do not damage
the terminal posts or cable connectors.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower any attachments to the ground,
engage the parking brake, and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Switch the main circuit breaker to the O
FF position, to de-energize the electrical
system.
3. Tilt the seat forward and secure it in place with the seat prop.
4. Remove the left foot platform panel
.
5. Disconnect the negative (-) cable
.
6. Disconnect the positive (+) cable
.
7. Remove the battery retainer
.
8. Remove the battery by sliding the battery forward out of the battery compartment.
Installing the Battery
IMPORTANT
To prevent possible electrical problems, install only a fully charged battery.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower any attachments to the ground,
engage the parking brake and remove the key from the ignition.
