Removing the Lift Cylinder (continued)
6. Install clean caps or plugs on the hydraulic hoses and fittings to prevent
contamination.
7. Remove the front and rear cylinder mounting bolts.
8. Remove the lift cylinder from the machine.
9. If the hydraulic fittings are to be removed from the lift cylinder, mark the fitting
orientation, and remove the fittings from the lift cylinder and discard the O-rings
from the fittings.
Installing the Lift Cylinder
1. Install the hydraulic fittings into the cylinder as required lubricate the new O-rings
with clean hydraulic fluid; refer to Installing the Hydraulic Fittings (SAE Straight
Thread O-Ring Fittings), page 5–12. Ensure that the fittings are orientated
correctly.
2. Position the lift cylinder in the chassis aligning the mounting holes, install the
mounting bolts Figure 39, item 1.
3. Remove the caps and plugs that were installed to the hydraulic hoses. Lubricate
and install the new O-rings, connect the hydraulic hoses Figure 39, item 2 to the
fittings Figure 39, item 3 on the lift cylinder. Tighten the hose connections; refer to
Installing the Hydraulic Hoses and Tubes (O-Ring Face Seal), page 5–10.
4. Lubricate the lift cylinder grease fittings.
5. Check the hydraulic systems for leaks and add hydraulic fluid to the system as
required.
6. Install the right engine cover.
Removing the 3–Point Hitch Spool Valve
CAUTION
Before opening the hydraulic system, operate all the hydraulic controls to
release system pressure and avoid injury from the pressurized hydraulic fluid;
refer to Relieving Pressure from the Hydraulic System, page 5–2.
