Cold Weather Operation
Cold Weather Starting
The fuel tank cap is non-vented. Instead, a
breather extends from the top of the fuel tank.
Use a winter grade fuel. Fill the tank at the
end of each day to prevent condensation.
The combine engine is equipped with glow
plugs which engage as needed to fuel
temperature.
Antifreeze
The combine is shipped from the factory with
permanent-type ethylene glycol antifreeze in
the cooling system.
Leave the antifreeze in the cooling system
all year around. If the coolant is lost or
drained, it must be replaced with the correct
coolant and conditioner. (See the
recommendations on the following page.)
After adding the antifreeze, turn the heater on
using the temperature selector switch and run
the engine until it reaches operating
temperature. This mixes the solution and
circulates it through the system.
A - Temperature selector
B - Mode selector
C - Fan speed control
MIPORTANT!
Do
NOT
try to drain cooling
system to protect against freezing. The
heater does not drain completely so freeze
damage may result.
