Variable Speed Picking Cylinder Drive
In addition to the dual speed drive which
powers the first three cylinders, the speed of
rear cylinders four and five is controlled by a
belt drive. This allows you to adjust the final
threshing speed to your particular conditions.
The starting point for this drive should be 180
RPMs when the engine is running at the full
speed of 2510 RPMs. This speed can be
adjusted lower or higher as needed for crop
conditions.
The variable speed cylinder drive functions as
follows:
Press the top of the button to increase cylinder
speed; press the bottom to decrease it. When
the button is pressed, the cylinder speed icon
displays on the bottom unit of the corner post,
on the line with the indictor arrow. The
cylinder speed displays beside the icon. The
indicator arrow on the display unit indicates
which line has the current display; press the
up/down arrows to toggle between the bottom
two lines.

At no time should this drive be operated
with the cylinder speed below 140 RPMs
with the engine at 2510 RPMs. You
should also never use more speed than
necessary as excessive speed can lead to
stick trash and/or shelling.
