Radiator
Make sure the radiator has sufficient coolant
by checking the coolant level in the recovery
tank. The following are important to
remember:
• Never pour cold water into a hot engine as
that can crack the cylinder block or head.
• Do NOT operate engine without coolant,
even for a few minutes.
• Never fill the radiator when the engine is
overheated, unless the engine is idling
slowly.
• Pour coolant slowly.
• Check coolant level when engine is cold.
•
Do NOT remove the radiator cap without
venting steam (photo)
scalded when the radiator ca
first turn the cap slightly to the stop. This
allows steam to vent. You can then safely
remove the cap.
Read the safety warning label beside the
cap before loosening it.
