Water Separator
Inspect the fuel tank water separator bowl
each time the fuel tank is filled. If you can see
water, drain if off at .
Change the water separator filter every 250
hours when the engine lacks power.
If dirty fuel has been used, change the water
separator filter before changing the fuel filter.
To replace the filter:
1. Shut off valve.
2. Drain the fuel from the separator.
3. Remove and replace the filter.
4. Open the valve.
5. Let air bleed through.
6. Bleed fuel lines if necessary. Contact your
AMADAS/JOHN DEERE dealer for
information on bleeding fuel lines.
Fuel Filter
The life of the fuel filter depends on how clean
the fuel is and how it is stored.
Air can enter the fuel system when the filter is
changed or the combine runs out of fuel. Air in
the system can prevent the engine from
starting. If the engine will not start after a
couple of attempts, you will need to bleed the
fuel filter.
For information on how to drain water from the
filter, replace the filter, or bleed the filter,
contact your AMADAS/John Deere dealer.
The procedures are the same as for the 9560
6.8L engine for the High Power John Deere
Grain combine.
