Batteries
To prevent damage to the electrical system
components, always observe all warnings
and take the following precautions:
NEVER disconnect the batteries with
the key switch on or the engine running.
NEVER connect jumper cables with the
key switch on.
ALWAYS disconnect the batteries when
charging them.
NEVER start the combine with more
than 12 volts.
ALWAYS use a 12-volt charger to
charge batteries.
NEVER connect or disconnect wiring
harness connectors with the key switch
on.
NEVER apply power or ground to any
component as a test, unless instructed
by a competent mechanic.
Battery Replacement
Two 12-volt batteries connected in parallel
provide a 12-volt electrical system. When
you replace the batteries, use John Deere
brand batteries or equivalent. Both
batteries MUST have the same ratings.
The batteries listed are all 12 Volts.

CAUTION
Battery gas can explode. To prevent
battery explosions:
Keep spa
rks, lighted matches, and
open flame away from the top of the
battery.
NEVER check battery charge by
placing a metal object across the
posts. Use a volt-meter or hydrometer.
NEVER
charge a frozen battery; it may
explode. Warm battery to 60ºF (16ºC).
