displays.
To change the minutes: press and hold
the SET button and at the same time
press and hold the TUNE button on the
up arrow side until the correct minutes
appear. (Seconds automatically reset to
00.)
If the radio is turned on and time is
displayed, press RCL to display the radio
frequency.
Manual Tuning Up/Down
Each time the tuning button (up arrow) is
pressed, the selector moves up to the next
station; pressing the down arrows moves
the selector to the previous station.
To scan radio stations, hold the manual
tuning switch down. The tuner scans about
10 stations a second and “wraps” back
around to start over when the end of the
band is reach. To stop the scan, release
the switch.
Band
Press the BAND switch to select AM, FM, or
the weather band (if included).
The radio automatically switches to stereo
mode and displays the ST stereo light when
it is tuned to an FM station broadcasting in
stereo
Presets
Up to five station frequencies can be stored.
Recall a station by pushing the preset
button. To set a station preset:
1. Tune to the station to be stored (using
manual, scan, seek, etc.).
2. Press the SET button; SET appears in
the display and station frequency
flashes for five seconds.
3. Press the push button that you want to
set for that station.
Weatherband
(Optional equipment.) The NOAA-Weather
Radio provides continuous broadcasts of
the latest weather information directly from
the National Weather Service. Taped
weather messages are repeated every four
to six minutes. They are updated every one
to three hours, or more frequently
depending on weather changes. Most of
the stations operate continuously.
Weather for your area may be located on
one of seven stations. When your radio is
in Weatherband mode, the WX icon
displays along with CHAN # and the
channel number. Use TUNE or SEEK to
adjust the channel if needed. You can also
preset the weather frequency; use the same
instructions for presetting a radio station.
The following are weatherband frequencies:
162.550 MHz
162.400 MHz
162.475 MHz
162.425 MHz
162.450 MHz
162.500 MHz
162.525 MHz
Theft Deterrent Feature
THEFTLOCK® has been installed in your
receiver to discourage theft. If you enter
your selected code, the receiver won’t work
whenever it is disconnected from your
vehicle or the battery power is lost.
You may choose whether or not to use
THEFTLOCK®. If you choose to use it,
your receiver will not operate if stolen. Any
time power is lost to the receiver, it displays
LOCK. The receiver will have to be
NOTE!
If you activate SET and do not
enter a stati
on frequency or push a
preset, the SET function automatically
cancels.
