9960 Self-Propelled Peanut Combine Performance
MAN091 06/03/05 119
Breast Spring Bars
There are two standard breast spring bars,
one on the third and one on the fourth cylinder,
which can be used to substantially increase
the aggressiveness of the machine.
Optional breast spring bars are available for
the first cylinder for exceptionally tough
conditions.
Starting Position: The machine should be
operated with the breast springs in the
disengaged position initially.
Adjustments: The breast spring bars should
only be engaged after the picking control
board has been fully engaged and peanuts are
still not being separated from the vines. Then,
the breast springs should be engaged in 1”
increments between performance checks,
beginning with the #3 cylinder breast spring
bar.
Do NOT make this adju
machine running!
in the disengaged position,
the tips of the breast springs extend into
the threshing chamber. If your conditions
do not require the use of breast springs, it
may be necessary or desirable
the teeth entirely while leaving the bar in
place. This can help reduce shelling
some conditions.
