– Remove the bolts -1- and -2- and the power steering pump.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
♦ Replace seals and gaskets.
♦ Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
♦ Always replace the o-rings for the input shaft, power steering
pump and pressure line.
♦ Before installing new power steering pump on intake side, fill
hydraulic oil and screw in by hand until oil escapes on pressure
side.
♦ Hose supports and hoses must be free of oil and grease before
installation.
♦ Secure all hose connections with new hose clamps, refer to
the Parts Catalog.
Tightening specifications ⇒ page 357
– Grease the splines on the power steering pump -1- and input
shaft -3- all the way around, refer to the Parts Catalog
– Replace the sealing ring -2-.
– Complete vane pump as shown in illustration and install on
engine.

3 - Drive shaft, when re-installing, lubricate the drive shaft
splines and the power steering pump all the way around.
Allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Install the left engine support and engine mount ⇒ Rep. Gr.
10 .
– Install the left air guide pipe ⇒ Rep. Gr. 21 .
– Install the left air filter housing ⇒ Rep. Gr. 23 .
– Install the left turbocharger bracket ⇒ Rep. Gr. 21 .
– Install the left rear coolant pipes ⇒ Rep. Gr. 19 .
– Install left catalytic converter ⇒ Rep. Gr. 26 .
– Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
– Top off Hydraulic Oil .
– Check power steering fluid level, refer to ⇒ page 310 .
– Bleed steering system, refer to ⇒ page 311 .
– Check the steering system for leaks, refer to ⇒ page 312 .
– On vehicles with air suspension, position vehicle on wheels,
refer to ⇒ page 10 .
