5.4.3.9 Operation 29. Change of oil in engine crankcase
Before changing oil, heat the engine up to normal operating temperature (70°С and
higher), put the tractor on a flat surface, stop the engine and brake the tractor using the
parking brake.
To change oil in the engine crankcase, do the following:
- remove cover 2 (figure 5.4.31) of oil filler neck 1 and unscrew drain plug 4;
- drain oil into a container for used oil storage;
- replace the engine oil filter as stated in clause 5.4.3.8 “Operation 28. Replacement
of engine oil filter”
- put drain plug 4 back to its place and fill new clean engine oil (winter oil as per ta-
ble 5.8.1 in winter, and summer oil in summer) through the oil filler neck up to the upper
mark of oil dipstick 3;
- place cover 2 of oil filler neck back;
- start the engine and let it run for one to two minutes;
- ten minutes after the engine stop, check oil level with oil dipstick 3;
- if necessary, top up oil into the engine crankcase.

5.4.3.10 Operation 30. Maintenance of alternator and starter
Clean alternator 3 (figure 5.4.29) and starter (figure 5.4.17) from dust and dirt.
Check tightening of starter retaining bolts, tighten them if necessary. Strip wire ends
to be connected to starter terminals and tighten their connections.
Check and, if necessary, tighten retaining bolts 2 (figure 5.4.32) of alternator 3.
Check the condition and tightening force of three terminal connections 1 of the alternator.
If necessary, strip and tighten them up.
