Fuel System

device and push to unlock the quick connector fit-
tings.
Push the locking device to lock the quick connec-
tor fittings. Make sure tabs are in the locked posi-
tion.
Removal
Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Relieving
Fuel System Pressure on p. 168.
Disconnect the battery cables at the battery.
Remove the engine top, front and rear covers.
Remove the port and starboard side panels.
Remove the starboard frame. Next remove the
port frame, then remove the front frame.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to remove the
three screws retaining the center frame to the
frame mounts.
Remove the center frame. Refer to Engine Cover
and Frame Service on p. 55.
Unlock and remove the quick connectors from the
fuel pump & vapor separator assembly.
Use shop towels to wipe up any spilled fuel.
Unlock the quick connectors from the fuel injec-
tors.
Remove the quick connectors from the fuel injec-
tors.
Use shop towels to wipe up any spilled fuel, then
remove the connectors from the fuel injectors.
Remove the fuel rails from the engine.

WARNING
When servicing the fuel system, always shift
the outboard to NEUTRAL position, turn the
key switch OFF and remove the key, so the
outboard cannot be started accidentally.
