Upper Mount Service
Remove the exhaust housing and adapter from
the swivel bracket. refer to Exhaust Housing
Removal starting on p. 286.
Remove the four screws from the upper mount
plate, then remove the plate. Lubricate the mount
with soapy water and carefully pry at both sides to
remove.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Lubricate
the mount with soapy water and press into place
in the exhaust adapter. Install the plate and four
screws.
Tighten the screws to a torque of 22 to 24 ft. lbs.
(30 to 32 N·m).
Lower Mount Service
Note: It is NOT necessary to remove the exhaust
housing and adapter from the swivel bracket to
service the lower mounts.
Remove the four screws and lower mount covers
and inspect the lower mounts.
If replacement is necessary, remove the two
screws from the front of the lower mount. Lubri-
cate the mount with soapy water and carefully pry
at both ends to remove.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Lubricate
the lower mounts with soapy water and press into
the exhaust housing with the “OUTSIDE” mark
facing outward.
Install the two screws into the front of the mount.
Install the mount cover and four screws. Tighten
the two front mount screws to a torque of
40 to 42 ft. lbs. (55 to 57 N·m).
Tighten the four mount cover screws to a torque of
6 to 8 ft. lbs. (8 to 10 N·m).
