Exhaust Water Cooling Fitting
Remove the hose clamp and cooling hose, then
remove the fitting.
IMPORTANT: The cooling fitting has three ma-
chined spray slots and MUST be indexed to spray
toward the exhaust temperature sensor.
Make three index marks on the hex of the fitting
aligned with each spray slot.
Apply Pipe Thread Sealant to the threads of the
fitting. Install the fitting and tighten to a torque of
72 In. lbs. (8 N·m). Check the index marks.
Correct indexing is achieved when one of the
index marks is aligned with, or up to 30° past the
exhaust back pressure probe.
Continue tightening the fitting a little at a time, until
an index mark is in the desired area, as shown.
Do NOT exceed a torque of 96 In. lbs. (11 N·m).
Install the cooling hose and secure with a new
Oetiker clamp.
