Exhaust Relief Muffler Assembly
The exhaust relief muffler is located at the rear of
the adapter housing and concealed by the engine
covers and frames.
The exhaust relief grommet connects directly to
the muffler assembly. The muffler assembly con-
nects to the exhaust relief hose from the exhaust
pipe.
The overboard indicator and flush port in the
exhaust relief grommet connect to a water hose.
A tee-fitting distributes water to two hoses. One
hose supplies flushing water to the vapor separa-
tor, EMM and DPS module and exits into the
exhaust adapter. A second hose supplies flushing
water to a fitting at the top of the block. Refer to
Cooling Hose Diagrams starting on p. 212.
Periodically inspect hoses and connections for
condition. Replace muffler or hoses as needed.
