Install the oil recirculation hoses on to the reed
plate assembly. Secure with new tie straps,
P/N 317893.
Place a new gasket on the plenum. Install the ple-
num on the reed plate and install 18 screws.
Tighten the center screws first and expand out-
ward. Final torque is 84 to 106 in. lbs. (10 to
12 N·m).
Install the center frame spacers and mounts on
the plenum.
Tighten spacers to a torque of 35 to 60 in. lbs.
(4 to 6 N·m).
Connect the electrical connector to the air tem-
perature sensor.
Install the vent hose on the plenum and secure
with a new 15.7 mm Oetiker clamp.
Install the throttle valve on the plenum, see Throt-
tle Valve Service on p. 180.
Use a #2 Posi-drive screwdriver to install the cen-
ter frame screws.
IMPORTANT: Turn self-tapping screws counter
clockwise to start the threads and clockwise to
tighten. Failure to follow this procedure can dam-
age the threads of the center frame mounts.
Install the front frame
Install the rigging housing with four retaining
screws.
Install the port and starboard frames.
Connect all cables and hoses at the engine. Refer
to the Evinrude E-TEC G2 Installation and Pre-
delivery Guide.
Install the engine front, top cover and rear covers.
Install the port and starboard side panels.
Refer to Engine Cover and Frame Service on
p. 55.
Connect the battery cables at the battery.
