pass through the area shown. Do NOT attempt to
remove wiring at this time.
Remove the four screws retaining the plate to the
stern brackets. Then remove the plate.
Remove the trim sender from the port stern
bracket. Do NOT remove the trim sender wires at
this time. Refer to Trim Sender Service on
p. 344.
Remove the two cap screws and washers retain-
ing the DPS manifold and the four hex screws
retaining the trim manifold. The DPS and trim
manifolds are removed as one assembly.
Carefully remove the manifold assembly from the
outboard. Use shop towels to wipe up spilled
hydraulic oil.
After the manifold is removed, carefully remove
leads and cables through the port side of the
swivel bracket in this order:
• trim sender lead
• trim motor cable
• steering pressure sensor leads
• DPS motor cable
