Gearcase Disassembly (Counter Rotation)
sleeve from the gearcase. Then remove the
detent balls and spring from the clutch shaft.
Use Puller Adapter, P/N 358520, remove the
clutch shaft.
Align the holes in the puller adapter with the
detent ball holes in the clutch shaft.
Insert a 0.25 in. (6 mm) diameter x 1.25 in.
(32 mm) long pin or bolt (obtain locally) through
the holes. Place the puller plate over the puller rod
and install the puller nut. Hold the rod with a
wrench and tighten the nut to remove the clutch
shaft.
The reverse gear may, or may not come out with
the clutch shaft assembly.
After removing the clutch shaft, remove the
reverse gear (if needed), thrust bearing and thrust
washer.
