P/N 358163, over propeller shaft and into gear-
case housing.
Install Press Fixture Nose, P/N 358161, onto
Gearcase Press Fixture, P/N 354059.
Align and level the gearcase assembly in the fix-
ture as shown. Secure the fixture to a floor press.
Press until the shifter housing is seated.
Use the Shift Rod Installer Tool, P/N 358162, to
install the shift rod.
Use Ball/Detent Remover Installer, P/N 358519, to
install the detent balls, spring and the sleeve, into
the clutch shaft.
Install the spring and large detent ball into the
clutch shaft. Then place the two small detent balls
into the clutch shaft.
Place the sleeve over the tool.
Use the tool to align the detent balls with the holes
in the clutch shaft.
Then push the tool on the large detent ball. When
the small detent balls are aligned, slide the sleeve
onto the clutch shaft while holding pressure on the
