Response to Query
Pattern
Sets or returns Rx BERT Pattern, in the form x, where:
0=space
1=mark
2=1:1
3=1:2
4=63
5=511
6=2047 (DEFAULT)
7=2047R (or 2047 Alternate)
8=Mil-188
9=2^15-1
A=2^20-1
B=2^23-1
EXAMPLE: <0/RBP=6 (Rx BERT Pattern is 2047)
RBP?
RBP#
(see Description of
Arguments)
Error Insert
Inserts 10E-3 BER in the form x, where:
0=Off
1=On
EXAMPLE: <0/BKE=1
BKE?
BKE#
(see Description of
Arguments)
Monitor
This command takes no arguments. Forces restart of the BERT monitor.
bit errors
Returns BERT monitor results in bit errors.
NOTE: If bit errors exceed 9999999, then response to query is BRE=9999999.
average BER
Returns the value of the average BER in the form a.bEcx, where:
x.x=Value
Ec=Exponent
x=Indicator of Sync Loss (see Note 1).
NOTES:
1) A “*” in last byte means there was a loss of pattern synchronization since last restart, but now is synchronized. A “_”
(space) in last byte means pattern synchronization is achieved.
2) Returns 999999 if there’s no sync in BERT monitor.
EXAMPLE 1: <0/BRR? >0/BRR=2.8E7 (indicates BER @ 2.8 x 10
-7
and in sync)
EXAMPLE 2: <0/BRR? >0/BRR=3.4E5* (indicates BER @ 3.4 x 10
-5
, and there was a Sync Loss)
