2 Distribution auger
2.1 Height adjustment
Depending on the mix of materials, the
set height of the distribution auger (1) –
measured from its bottom edge – should
lie above the material layer height.
Grain sizes up to 16 mm
Example:
Paving thickness 10 cm
Min. height setting 15 cm
from the ground
Grain sizes > 16 mm
Example:
Paving thickness 10 cm
Min. height setting 18 cm
from the ground
A
An incorrect height setting can result in the following problems during paving:
- Auger too high:
Too much material in front of the screed; material overflow. When operating with
larger working widths, demixing and traction problems may occur.
- Auger too low:
Not enough material that can be precompacted by the auger. Irregularities resulting
from this cannot be completely compensated by the screed (wavy surface).
In addition, increased auger segment wear occurs.
