SECTION 2
SYSTEM SETUP
___________________________________
This section of the manual is designed to get RADAR up and running as quickly as possible.
INSTALLATION
________________________________________
Once the RADAR
is unpacked please keep the box and all of the associated packaging materials. In the
event that the unit needs to be returned for upgrade, service or repair, the use of the original shipping box
will ensure that RADAR returns to iZ in good condition.
Make sure to consider the following before installing RADAR:
• Power supply fans and hard drives make a certain amount of noise; installing the main RADAR
unit outside of the control room is ideal.
• Leave space around the front and the rear of the RADAR to allow adequate air circulation.
• AES/EBU digital lines and the Session Controller extension cable can be run at a length of
approximately 33 meters.
• ADAT optical and TDIF digital audio connections will limit the distance between RADAR and the
mixing console to approximately 10 meters.
• If using a monitor, an SVGA monitor will be required, as well as a high quality SVGA extension
cable if the RADAR will be located in a machine room.
• Make sure that the RADAR
has a reliable, properly grounded AC power source. An
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is highly recommended.
