OPERATIONS

This section of the manual provides a quick reference to RADAR displays, key functionality, menus, value
entry, project management, backup and restore.
RADAR is a robust, dependable and easy-to-use multi-track recorder. All aspects of RADAR performance
are designed to meet and exceed the performance requirements of a professional recorder. All
professional recorder functions are available such as the ability to record, punch in and out, jog/shuttle
and vari-speed.
POWERING RADAR ON AND OFF

RADAR units manufactured prior to July 2007 have a marked on/off toggle power switch. To turn RADAR
on, push the top of the power switch to the “I” position. To properly power down RADAR choose
SHUTDOWN RADAR from the MAIN MENU and then push the bottom of the power switch to the “0”
position.
RADAR units manufactured after July 2007 have an unmarked momentary soft power switch. To turn
RADAR on, push and release the top of the power switch briefly. To properly power down RADAR
choose SHUTDOWN RADAR from the MAIN MENU and then hold the top of the power switch for 5
seconds until RADAR powers off. This 5 second delay is a safety feature that prevents inadvertent power
down.
When RADAR powers up, a power on self test (POST) is performed, and proceeds to load the RADAR
application. During the RADAR application launch, the iZ logo will appear followed by a black screen for a
few seconds, followed by the RADAR logo, then by the RADARView operating screen. When the
RADARView screen appears, RADAR will automatically mount the previously mounted audio drive and
load the previously loaded project.
