MIDI MACHINE CONTROL (MMC)
MMC is an option for applications requiring multiple machines to be in sync, and controlled from a single
interface.
Connect a MIDI cable to RADAR on the Sync I/O card labeled MIDI IN to a synchronizer or MIDI
Controller controller.
To select MMC:
Use the , the and keys and the key to go to the MAIN MENU / SYNC
MENU / MACHINE CONTROL / SELECT TYPE dialogue and press the key.
Use the and keys to select MMC and press the key.
To enable MMC:
Use the , the and keys and the key to go to the MAIN MENU / DISK
MENU / SYNC MENU / MACHINE CONTROL / ENABLE dialogue and press the key.

CONNECTING TO A CLOCK MASTER
When RADAR is not the only digital device in a studio environment, all digital components must run from
the same clock (sync) to avoid pops and clicks. Even though RADAR has a superior internal clock, it
might be required for RADAR to clock (sync) to an external clock.
RADAR can clock (sync) to Word Clock, Video Sync, TDIF Word Clock, TDIF Multi-channel, AES 2
Channel, SPDIF, AES Multi-channel, ADAT, MADI Optical, MADI Coaxial, SMPTE, and MTC. When
clocking many digital devices together, verify each device is set to the same sample rate.
To set RADAR to slave to an external clock source:
Connect one of the above formats to the input on RADAR.
Use the , the and keys and the key to go to the MAIN MENU / SYNC
MENU / SYNC REFERENCE press the key. (or press the key on the Session
Controller.)
Use the and keys to select the clock source and press the key.
The Sync light on the Session Controller and RADARView
TM
screen will flash while awaiting
incoming clock, and stay solid when locked to an external sync source.
