Vertical Shaft
Volatilization of oil on the vertical shaft will prevent the up/down handle from moving.
We recommend checking the oil on the vertical shaft at least once a week.
1 Remove the bellows.
2 Completely wipe away any old oil, dirt, or dust.
3 Apply fresh oil.
4 Turn the up/down handle.
5 Check that the vertical shaft correctly moves up and down.
Tips
• ISO VG 32 (ISO 3448) mineral oil is recommended for the vertical shaft.
Examples: SUPER MULPUS DX32 (JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation), Vacuoline 1405 (Mobil)
• Avoid highly volatile lubricants that contain aerosols. The up/down handle may stop moving.

Exterior Maintenance
Lightlywipeawaydirtontheexteriorofthetestingmachinewithadry,softcloth.Ifdirtisdi󰀩culttore-
move,wipethedirto󰀨withacloththatistightlywrungafterbeingsoakedinaneutraldetergentdiluted
with water, and then wipe the exterior with a dry cloth.
