Replace the indenter with a new
one.

Make sure that the indenter is cor-
rectly attached and secured.
Are the display unit indenter
settings correct?
Make sure that the indenter settings
on the display unit match the in-
denter being used.
Are the test environment con-
ditions appropriate?
Make improvements to the test
environment conditions.
Is the specimen tilted?
Make the surface of the specimen
parallel to the upper surface of the
anvil.
Is the specimen surface
curved (spherical/cylindrical)?
Add an indent on the apex of the
specimen curve.

External output is not
enabled.
Is the external output set to
OFF?
Set the external output to ON.
Are the connecting cables
correctly connected?
Connect the connectors correctly.

functioning.
Is the protective sheet at-
