MAINTENANCE: Cleaning, Disinfection, and Sterilization
Cleaning
Disinfection
Interval Clean daily or more frequently as needed, following your organization’s sanitation policies.
Tolerance to Water The moisture tolerance of the device is component dependent. Nothing more wet than a wrung out
drip-less
towel should be used anywhere near the device. The column is rated IPX4. Overall system
is IPX0.
Steps
1. Submerge a cloth rag into the warm water. Ring the rag out so it is not dripping.
2. Wipe down all external surfaces of the Ring, Gimbal, Base, Trumpf Column, Pendant and
Pendant cord, and system power cord.
If necessary, use a mild detergent with the water to remove the stains.
3. Once sections of the Gimbal and Ring accessible in Scan position are clean, unscrew the
Tilt Stop and tilt the Ring in Hospital Service mode in accordance with section Tilting the
Ring for Cleaning.
4. Clean between the Ring and Gimbal.
5. Once all surfaces have been cleaned, allow to air dry, or wipe dry with a dry rag or paper
towel.
Steps
1. Use a germicidal disposable wipe (such as PDI Super Sani-Cloth®
or equivalent.) to
remove dirt or stains.
Wipe down all external surfaces of the Ring, Gimbal, Base, Trumpf Column, Pendant and
Pendant cord, and system power cord. The surfaces must stay wet for at least two minutes.
Use as many Sani-Cloths as necessary to ensure the surfaces are wet for two minutes.
NOTE: The Super Sani-Cloth should not be used to remove dirt and stains. They are for
disinfection only.
2. Allow to air dry.
3. When AIRO is dry, return the Ring to the upright position and reinstall the Tilt Stop in
accordance with section Tilting the Ring for Cleaning.
4. Wipe the exterior of the bucket and cleanser containers with a Sani-Cloth.
5. Dispose of all wipes, paper towels, orange sticks and disposable PPE in the bio-hazard
container.
6. Wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap.
