How to Move AIRO
When the Drive
Wheel Fails
Never attempt to put the main drive wheel into neutral on an incline. There is a risk of
injury and equipment damage from uncontrolled movement.

Step
Evaluate the situation. Is AIRO raised onto its wheels, or lowered onto the ground? Is the system
unplugged? (You must unplug the AIRO before transport.)
Situation Likely Cause Response
• The system is raised on its casters.
• You are using the Pendant, but the
system will not move.
The drive mechanism failed. See section 12.5.2
• The base is on the floor.
• You cannot raise the system to
move it.
The mechanism to raise the
base failed, or the system
can’t transition from Scan
mode to Transport mode.

Situation Solution
The system is on its casters and you are using the
Pendant, but the system will not move.
Put the main drive wheel into neutral
manually. Push from the normal position.
