The following conditions are required to perform HbF suppression:

It may be of value when analyzing blood samples
from newborns who have received adult blood
transfusion. In these cases FHbF can be lower than
20 % and significant deviations of oximetry
parameters and bilirubin can occur.

HbF suppression has

The FHbF value is normally, but not always,
displayed by the analyzer.
