Itisstronglyrecommendedtolayasteelconduitfromthecableglandabovethetransducer
totheEK80transceiver,andtopullthetransducercablethroughthisconduit.
Thereareseveralreasonsforthis.
•Itwillmakeiteasieratalaterstagetoreplacethetransducer.
•Itwillprotectthecables.
•Noiseandinterferencefromotherelectricalequipmentisgreatlyreduced.
•Theriskofoodingisgreatlyreducedwhenthesteelconduitisterminatedabovethe
waterline.
WithasteelconduittheinstallationwillsatisfytheEuropeanUnionregulationsfor
electromagneticcompatibility(EMC)interference.Withoutasteelconduit,thereisariskof
reducedEK80performance.
Procedure
1Obtainthewiringinformationforthetransduceryouwishtouse,aswellastherelevant
transducerconnectiondiagram.
2Prepareasteelconduitforthetransducercable.
3Pullthetransducercablethroughthesteelconduit.
4Connecttheconductorsinthetransducercabletothecorrectpinsintheplug.
