Unlessotherwisestatedintheaccompanyingdocumentation,electronic,electromechanical
andmechanicalunitssuppliedbyKongsbergMaritimecanbeonlytransportedusing
methodsapprovedfordelicateandfragileequipment.
Prerequisites
Transportationmethodsapprovedfordelicateequipmentincludestransportationbyroad,
rail,airorsea.
Context
Theunitsaretobetransportedinaccordancewithgeneralorspecicinstructionsfor
theappropriateunit(s),usingpallets,transportcases,woodenboxes,orcartonboxesas
appropriate.
Observethepackinginstructions.
Note
Speciallocalrestrictionsconcerningairtransportationmaybeappliedtounitscontaining
certaintypesofbatteries.Theseunitsmustbecheckedproperly,andtheregulationsmustbe
investigatedbythepacker/shipperbeforetheunitisdispatched.
Procedure
1Ensurethatalllocaltransportationisdoneaccordingtothesamespecicationsas
fortheinitialdelivery.
2Makesurethattheboxcontainingtheunitiskeptdryatalltimes,andshelteredfrom
theweather.
Itmustnotbesubjectedtoshocks,excessivevibrationorotherroughhandling.The
boxwillnormallybemarkedwithtextorsymbolsindicatingwhichwayitistobe
placed.Followtheinstructionsprovided,andmakesurethattheboxisalwaysplaced
withits“top”facingupwards.
3Makesurethattheboxisnotusedforanypurposeforwhichitwasnotintended
(step,table,etc.).
Intheabsenceofotherinformation,nootherboxesmustbestackedontopofit.
4Handleallboxesandunitswithcare.
