TheEK80WideBandTransceiver(WBT)isnormallypositionedinadedicatedroom
inthevicinityofthetransducer.Thephysicallengthofthecableslimitthephysical
distancebetweeneachtransducerandtheWideBandTransceiver(WBT).
TheWideBand
Transceiver(WBT)canbeinstalledverticallyorhorizontallyusingtheintegratedmounting
brackets.Fourboltsareused,twooneachside.
Prerequisites
AsuitablelocationfortheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)mustbedenedpriorto
installation.Itisnormallypositionedinthesonarroomclosetothetransducer.Theunit
caninprinciplebemountedanywhereonboardtheship,providedthatthelocationisdry
andventilated.
Observethelengthofthetransducercables.
Youmustbeequippedwithastandardsetoftools.Thistoolsetmustcomprisethenormal
toolsforelectronicandelectromechanicaltasks,suchasscrewdrivers,pliers,spanners,a
cablestripperetc.Eachtoolmustbeprovidedinvarioussizes.Werecommendthatalltools
aredemagnetizedtoprotectyourequipment.

surfaceprovidedthattheenvironmentalrequirements
aremet.

IfyoumounttheWideBandTransceiver(WBT)ona
bulkhead,positiontheunitsothatallthesocketsare
facingdown.

1Preparethelocationandthenecessarytools.
2Observetheinstallationrequirements.
•Dependingonthelocalrequirementsandpreferences,theWideBandTransceiver
(WBT)canbeinstalledonthebulkhead,insideaconsole,inacabinetor19”rack,
oronadesk.
