9Placeasuitablysizedbagofdesiccantmaterial(silicagelorsimilar)intotheunitto
keeptheelectroniccomponentsasdryaspossible.
10Closethecabinetrmlybeforestorageand/orshipment.
11Secureandprotectlooseparts(shockabsorbers,plugandsockets,protrudingobjects
etc).
12Iftheelectroniccabinetshallbesenttostorageorshipped,sprayitexternallyusinga
corrosioninhibitor(forexamplealightoil)priortopacking.
Cleaningamechanicalorelectromechanicalunit
Ifanmechanicalunithasbeenexposedtossaltatmosphere,itmustbethoroughlycleaned
topreventcorrosion.
Prerequisites
Inordertocleanamechanicalorelectromechanicalunit,youwillneedrelevanttoolsand
detergents.
Procedure
1Wipeofftheexternalsurfacesofthemechanicalunitusingadamplintfreecloth
andamilddetergent.
Note
Donotuseexcessiveamountsofwater.Theunitmayincludepartsthatarenotwater
tight.
2Oncompletion,drytheunitthoroughly.
3Inspectallsurfacesforsignsofcorrosion,aking,bubblingpaint,stainsetc.
4Cleandamagedorsuspectareas,prepareandpreservetheseareasusingthecorrect
preservationmediums.
