Electricalnoise
Electricalorelectronicnoiseispickeduporgeneratedinanyotherpartoftheequipment
thanthetransducer.
Humpickedupbythetransducercablesorpickedupfromthevoltagesupplyisusuallythe
mostcommonsourceofelectricalnoise.
Athigherfrequencies–whereratherwidebandwidthsarenecessary–thenoisefrom
components,transistorsorotheranalogueelectronicmaybealimitingfactor.

CarefulplanningoftheEK80installationmayreducetheacousticnoise.
Unfortunately,itisimpossibletosimplyprovideanumberofspecicprocedurestoreduce
thenoise.
Animportantfactoristhephysicallocationofthetransducer.Thisdependsonthevessel's
designandconstruction,howthehullisshaped,andhowthewaterrunsalongthehull.
Otherfactorsdealwithotherequipmentmountedonboard,andthiswillalsobevessel
dependant.
Preparations
