AselectionoftheSimradtransducershavebeendesignedtooperateindeepwater.These
areintendedforinstallationinsubseaconstructions,withautonomoustransceivers,orinside
atowedbody.
Deepwatertransducersarettedwithonlyashortcable,andthisisterminatedinafemale
underwaterconnector.
Whenthetransducerisinstalled,thedesignofthesubseadevicemustincludeawatertight
junctionboxwiththematchedmalepanelsocket.Thetransducercablemustthenbe
fedfromthejunctionboxtothevesselorlandstation,ortoatransceiverbuiltintothe
subseaunit.Withoutalocaltransceiver,adequateprotectionmustbeprovidedtosupport
thetransducercable.
