Procedure
1Checkallboxes(woodenorcardboardboxes,plasticbagsand/orpallets)forphysical
damage.
Lookforsignsofdropping,immersioninwaterorothermishandling.
2Ifexternaldamageisdetected,opentheboxtocheckitscontents.
Requestthatarepresentativeofthecarriertobepresentwhiletheboxisopened,soany
transportationdamagecanbeidentiedanddocumented.
3Ifaunithasbeendamaged,prepareaninspectionreportstatingtheconditionofthe
unitandactionstaken.
Describethedamage,andcollectphotographicevidenceifpossible.Returnthe
inspectionreporttoKongsbergMaritimeassoonaspossible.
4Ifunitsarenotdamaged,checkthehumidityabsorbingmaterial.
Ifrequired,dryorreplacethebags,thenre-packtheunit(s)accordingtothepacking
instructions.
Specicationsforstoragepriortoinstallation
oruse
Whenasystem,aunitoraspareparthasbeendeliveredtothecustomer,itmaybesubjectto
longtimestoragepriortoinstallationanduse.
Generalspecications
Duringthisstorageperiod,certainspecicationsmustbemet.Theequipmentmust
bepreservedandstoredinsuchawaythatitdoesnotconstituteanydangertohealth,
environmentorpersonalinjury.
1Theequipmentmustbestoredinitsoriginaltransportationbox.
2Ensurethattheunitsareclearlyseparatedintheshelvesandthateachunitiseasily
identiable.
3Theboxmustnotbeusedforanypurposeforwhichitwasnotintended(work
platform,steps,tableetc.).
4Boxesmustnotbeplacedontopofeachother,unlessspecicmarkingspermitthis.
5Boxesmustnotbeplaceddirectlyonadirtoor.
6Donotopenaboxforinspectionunlessspecialcircumstancespermitso.
“Specialcircumstances”maybesuspecteddamagetotheboxanditscontent,or
inspectionsbycivilauthorities.
